Paul Guiragossian Book (1982)

The first book on Paul Guiragossian's art was published in 1982 by Emmanuel Guiragossian (the artist's eldest son). Emmagoss was founded by Emmanuel in 1980 and the preparation of this book took 2 years because of the civil war in Beirut. It was very hard to gather slides of paintings from various collector's homes and having to venture into different front-lines to get to them, Emmanuel's life was endangered by snipers on several occasions.
Finally in 1982, printed at Raidy ... this book was published in only 1 version, in French with ...color images and ...black and white.
Written by Joseph Tarrab one of the most acclaimed art critics in the Middle East and close friend of Paul, the book shows the artist's beginnings and his work's development into it's contemporary and modern form.

Emmagoss publishing house is in the works to do a follow up to this book and it will cover the final 10 years of Paul's works and  life from 1983 to 1993.
